Dear Colleague

The end of the year approaches and no doubt everyone is very busy.  It’s been a very full year for EphMRA – with 3 successful Chapter meetings (London, Berlin and Basel) as well as a great conference in Warsaw that I enjoyed very much! We'd love to see you at our events, so if you've not been to an EphMRA Conference or One Day Meeting before why not give yourself a New Year's resolution to join us!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of our members and everyone who got involved with EphMRA in 2019. Our Committees and Working Groups are part of the essence of our Association – Classification, Data & Systems, Devices & Diagnostics, Ethics, Executive, Fieldwork Forum, Forecasting, Learning & Development, and NFC all demonstrate how active we are. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and next year looks set to be full of exciting new developments, both at EphMRA and in the industry.  However I would like to highlight some of our latest 2019 activities.

Our first-class Training Programs – for Young Researchers has started and together with the webinars for the more established researchers have engaged a wide range of members.  The training webinars will continue into 2020 – check out more details here and here.

Our commitment to keeping you up to date on ethics was shown in November when EFAMRO led a webinar on our behalf on AI/Machine Learning/Digital - use, implications and ethics for market researchers/data analysts.  If you missed it you can catch up by listening to the recording in the members area of the web site.

Furthermore we have received feedback that Resources on our web site are often hard to find – and the valuable knowledge therefore is underused and not easily accessible.  We are now implementing a cost-effectie solution to tag each resource (trainings, and conference pdfs and files etc.) to make them available in the resource search functionality.  This will be completed in first quarter 2020 and aims to bring the resources more quickly and easily to you.

Finally, EphMRA announces a strategic partnership with CphMRA (China Pharmaceutical Market Research Association).  I just wanted to let our members know that EphMRA and CphMRA are in talks about proactive collaboration initiatives like mutual training needs, Code of Conduct as well as having conference participation.  We see the opportunity to enhance the communication and knowledge sharing between the two organisations and further strengthen global co-operation as all colleagues working worldwide in healthcare market research and business intelligence face similar day to day challenges and a changing compliance landscape.

If you would like to contact me for feedback or to discuss your views on any of the activities of EphMRA then please email me at [email protected]

In the meantime I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
